Ferry Services

Note:

  1. If the height exceeds 95 cm, unless relevant proof is provided, the person will be considered a child aged 3 or above.
  2. A disability registration card must be presented. Wheelchair users can board from the lower deck, with a maximum of four wheelchair users allowed on the lower deck of each ferry.
  3. Hong Kong resident identity card, elderly card, or other identification documents must be presented, and a personal Octopus card or elderly Octopus card must be used. Leisure Card holders can enjoy a discounted fare of HKD 2 per trip under the Government Elderly and Eligible Disabled Public Transport Fare Concession Scheme (Two-Dollar Concession Scheme) on designated public transport services.
  4. Monthly passes are sold from the 26th of the previous month to the 10th of the current month at the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier Control Centre (near Mammy Pancake). Passengers must submit a recent photo when purchasing.
  5. The four-day tourist ticket is sold at the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier Control Centre (near Mammy Pancake). Ticket holders can enjoy unlimited rides on the Central-Tsim Sha Tsui and Wan Chai-Tsim Sha Tsui routes within four days.
  6. Only the lower deck of the Wan Chai-Tsim Sha Tsui route does not carry passengers; a maximum of ten bicycles are allowed on the lower deck of each ferry.
  7. Actual sailing times may vary due to maritime traffic, sea and weather conditions, vessel deployment, and other factors.

Octopus Card

Tap your card at the gates of all Star Ferry terminals to enter.

We do not sell Octopus cards. For details, please refer to the information provided by Octopus.

Hong Kong Dollar Cash

Only accepts HKD banknotes of $10, $20 and coins of 1, 2, 5 cents, and $1, $2, $5, $10. Change is provided.

Electronic Payment

Purchase tickets at the "Self-Service Ticket Machines" at all Star Ferry terminals. You can buy up to 10 adult, 10 child, and 10 senior or disabled concession tickets at once.

Accepts WeChat Pay, WeChat Pay HK, Alipay, Alipay HK, UnionPay QuickPass, and credit cards. Passengers can scan the QR code on their mobile device or use credit cards to pay.

After purchase, each passenger receives a ticket.

The Star Ferry does not have reserved seating; please find your own seat after boarding.

 

Ferry Passenger Notice

  1. Do not board or disembark the ferry when the gangway is not lowered.
  2. Passengers must board and disembark at the designated gangway.
  3. Passengers should be cautious and watch for gangway movement when boarding or disembarking.
  4. Standing on the upper deck or steps of the ferry is strictly prohibited. Passengers must remain seated until the ferry is securely docked.
  5. Do not extend your body or arms outside the ferry.
  6. Please keep the pier and ferry clean.
  7. No eating or drinking allowed.
  8. Smoking is strictly prohibited on the pier and ferry.
  9. Passengers are only allowed to bring items no larger than 40 cm long, 40 cm wide, and 17.5 cm high on board. Dangerous items are strictly prohibited on the pier and ferry.
  10. No animals or poultry allowed on board (guide dogs for the visually impaired are exempt).
  11. Please prepare exact change.
  12. Each adult passenger who pays the fare is allowed to bring up to two children under three years old, not exceeding 95 cm in height and not occupying a seat, free of charge
  13. Octopus card holders can enjoy a discounted fare of $2 per trip under the Government's Elderly and Eligible Persons with Disabilities Public Transport Fare Concession Scheme (the $2 concession scheme) on designated public transport services.
  14. Ferry schedules may be adjusted depending on marine traffic conditions.
  15. If the ferry is over capacity, passengers must not force boarding.
  16. Passengers must not lie down or put their feet on the seats.
  17. When crew members are securing the ferry, passengers must stay clear of the sides, mooring posts, and ropes.
